24/7 Gym near Thomaston, CT

From downtown Thomaston, Route 8 gets you to the gym in about fifteen minutes.

Thomaston is named for the clockmaker Seth Thomas. Ten miles up Route 8, members don't have to watch the clock at all: a key tag lets them in at any hour, on any day of the year.

Inside 634 Migeon Ave is a floor set up for barbell work: power racks, a deadlift platform with bumper plates, an Arsenal Strength pendulum squat and plate-loaded Hammer Strength machines.

Lift one full session on a day pass before you decide anything. The floor will tell you more than this page can.

Getting here

Get on Route 8 north in Thomaston and stay on it for about ten miles into Torrington. Take the Route 4 exit and head west; Route 4 turns into Migeon Ave, and Atlas is at number 634. The lot out front and the one behind the building are both free.

Built around the barbell

If your program runs on squats, bench and deadlifts, or you're learning the snatch and the clean and jerk, the setup matters. You'll have power racks for squats and presses, the platform and bumper plates for pulls and the Olympic lifts, and a Rogue reverse hyper for glute and hamstring work once the heavy sets are done. The powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting pages go deeper on each.

First things to try

  • A few pulls on the deadlift platform, light enough that every rep looks the same.
  • The Arsenal Strength pendulum squat, for deep squats with your back braced against a pad.
  • The Booty Builder hip thrust machine, for heavy glute work with no bar to balance.
  • The Hammer Strength leg extension, to finish off your quads.

An owner is usually at the front desk during the day. Ask them to show you each machine on your first visit.
